Blue Vervain has been used since ancient times as an altar herb. It was burned to purify temples and other pIaces of worship, and also used as an altar offering. Blue Vervain was considered a sacred plant by the Romans, Greeks, and Egyptians. It smells sweet while burning. A great option for those who enjoy cleansing/smudging but aren't fond of the strong scent of sage. I wrap my sticks with super thin hemp string. Sticks are approximately 5 inches long and 1 inch width.
